Monique Peytral: peindre Lascaux, peindre la vie

For the last 8 months Monique Peytral, 87, has been making weekly visits to the nearby Saint Antoine nursing home. 

No, she doesn't go there to sign up as a future resident. She goes there to work.

Every Thursday the aged residents watch the clock impatiently. They can't wait for the art lesson with Peytral -- the woman who painted the Lascaux replica --  to begin.

As for Monique, she is simply enthralled. "They're the same age as me", she says with amazement. "Some are younger than me, and they can't understand why I'm in such good shape."
